Annual Scholarship
UGEFCU High School Senior Scholarship
The Utica Gas & Electric Federal Credit Union (UGEFCU) is excited to award two $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and community engagement. Applicants must be current members of UGEFCU and plan to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution. This scholarship seeks to support and recognize tomorrow’s leaders who embody the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”

• Award Amount: $1,500 each
Eligibility
• Must be a high school senior at time of application
• Must be a member in good standing of UGEFCU
• Planning to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution
Application Requirements
• Completed online application (posted on our website each October)
• Official high school transcript
• Personal essay responding to the prompt provided on the application
Timeline
1. Application Opens: October
2. Submission Deadline: Early January
3. Winners Announced: Late April–Early May
4. Award Presentation: UGEFCU Annual Dinner for members
Selection & Notification
Recipients are chosen based on academic performance, strength of the essay, extracurricular involvement, and alignment with UGEFCU’s values. Successful candidates will be notified in late April or early May and personally invited to attend the UGEFCU Annual Dinner, where they’ll be recognized and receive their awards.
